Mid-cycle consulting

What made sense at four people is different at fifty.

A lot of the plans we take on were designed correctly and then the business changed around them. If you have had the same plan for five or ten years and you are not sure what questions to ask any more, that is exactly the conversation to have.

  1. 01

    Review what you have

Plan document, adoption agreement, amendments, the last three years of testing and filings. We read it before we recommend anything.

  2. 02

    Find what is not working

Most plans that need moving have a design that stopped matching the business. Headcount grew, the org chart shifted, or the owners' goals changed.

  3. 03

    Choose the destination

New recordkeeper if the platform is the problem, same recordkeeper if it is not. We will say which, plainly.

  4. 04

    Coordinate the asset transfer

Blackout notices, the timing of the freeze, and making sure nothing falls between the old provider and the new one.

  5. 05

    Communicate with employees

Participants notice a transition. Getting the notices and the timing right is most of what makes it feel smooth.

  6. 06

    Stay compliant throughout

The plan does not get a holiday from IRS and Department of Labor rules while it moves. Testing and filings continue on schedule.
